History of the Waroona Show

The Waroona Agricultural Society Incorporated was founded in 1925 to coordinate an annual event known as  “the Waroona Show”. The Show brings the community together in a celebration of Art, Sport, Cultural Activities and a variety of Agricultural displays and activities.

The Society consists of an executive and general committee of volunteers representing a cross-section of the community who work tirelessly all year to ensure the show’s success. During show week and on show day, the list of volunteers grows to well over 50, not including those working for other community organisations at the show.

The Waroona Show is the largest single event in the Shire and the single biggest fundraising event in the year for local community organisations. The Waroona Show is also the only Agricultural Show in the Peel Region.

The show boasts many attractions each year including log chopping, sideshow alley, trade stalls, horse, cattle and poultry judging, children’s entertainment and activities, photography, cooking, horticulture, sewing and art competitions, wine and food tasting, music and a spectacular fireworks display.

In 2021 the Waroona community and the Agricultural Society will celebrate their 90th show.
